Intuitive Machines, a leader in space technology and infrastructure services, has announced plans to acquire Lanteris Space Systems, formerly Maxar Space Systems, from Advent International LLC. The $800 million deal combines $450 million in cash and $350 million in stock, marking a major milestone in America’s growing commercial and national security space landscape.

With combined revenues exceeding $850 million, a $920 million backlog, and positive adjusted EBITDA, the merger positions Intuitive Machines as a multi-domain space prime, ready to design, manufacture, deliver, and operate missions from Earth orbit to the Moon, Mars, and beyond.

“This marks the moment Intuitive Machines transitions from a lunar company to a multi-domain space prime,” said Steve Altemus, CEO of Intuitive Machines. “We’re setting the pace for how the next generation of the space industry will operate.”

The acquisition broadens Intuitive Machines’ footprint across commercial, civil, and national security programs, including the Golden Dome, Space Development Agency’s Layered Architecture, Artemis, Lunar Terrain Vehicle Services (LTVS), and Mars missions.

“By integrating Lanteris, we’re accelerating our vision to deliver end-to-end space infrastructure, from LEO to deep space,” added Kam Ghaffarian, Chairman of Intuitive Machines.

Advent International’s Managing Partner, Shonnel Malani, emphasized Lanteris’ alignment with U.S. national security goals: “We’ve positioned Lanteris for sustainable growth by investing in next-generation missile defense capabilities. This ongoing equity partnership underscores our confidence in the long-term opportunity ahead.”

The transaction is expected to close in Q1 2026, subject to regulatory approvals.
