In a major win for commercial innovation in defense, York Space Systems has been tapped by the U.S. Space Force for a $237 million IDIQ contract to supply high-performance small satellites for critical national security missions.
Backed by its fast, scalable spacecraft production model and mission-ready operations framework, York is set to deliver satellites faster, smarter, and at scale—without compromising performance or affordability.
This isn’t just a contract—it’s a signal that the future of national defense lies in the speed and reliability of proven commercial space providers,” said Melanie Preisser, GM & Executive VP of York. “We’re ready to move at mission speed.”
This milestone contract supports a range of cutting-edge missions, including space situational awareness, remote proximity operations, and Golden Dome demonstrations—all powered by spacecraft built and tested in York’s Denver-based facilities with a fully operational domestic supply chain.
Time is mission-critical,” added Michael Lajczok, CTO of York. “This partnership enables the Space Force to field resilient, high-impact space capabilities faster than ever before.”
As defense agencies increasingly embrace commercial innovation, York’s inclusion underscores the Department of Defense’s confidence in agile, private-sector solutions to meet ever-evolving threats in the space domain.
