Quantum Systems has secured one of the largest private financing rounds in the European defense technology sector, raising $1.2 billion in a Series D funding round that values the company at approximately $8 billion post-money. The investment marks a major milestone for the Munich-based defense technology company as it accelerates the industrial-scale production of AI-powered autonomous systems and expands its software-defined capabilities across air, land, and maritime domains.

The funding round was co-led by Blackstone, Noteus, Airbus, and Advent, with participation from leading institutional investors, including BOND, Fidelity Management & Research Company, Wellington Management, A.P. Moller Holding, and Elephant Lake Ventures, as well as existing investors Balderton and HV Capital.

The investment more than doubles Quantum Systems' previous valuation, highlighting strong investor confidence in the company's rapid revenue growth, profitability, and expanding position as one of Europe's most significant deep-tech defense companies.

Moving Beyond Individual Drones Toward Connected Autonomous Ecosystems

Rather than focusing solely on individual unmanned platforms, Quantum Systems plans to use the new capital to accelerate development of an interoperable family of autonomous systems connected via MOSAIC UXS, its software ecosystem designed to enable seamless collaboration among uncrewed platforms operating across multiple domains.

The company's long-term strategy centers on creating software-defined autonomous capabilities that allow air, land, and maritime systems to operate together in real time while supporting increasingly complex military missions.

Alongside the financing announcement, Airbus Defence and Space confirmed it will deepen its strategic collaboration with Quantum Systems to jointly advance sovereign European defense capabilities by combining expertise in software, artificial intelligence, and system architecture.

Scaling Production for Allied Defense Markets

The proceeds from the Series D round will primarily support:

  • Expansion of manufacturing capacity

  • Increased production across allied nations

  • Strengthening global supply chain resilience

  • Continued investment in artificial intelligence and software development

  • Faster delivery of autonomous systems to international defense customers

According to Quantum Systems, the investment provides significant financial resources to support its next phase of industrial expansion while maintaining its focus on profitability and disciplined execution.

Co-CEO and Co-Founder Florian Seibel emphasized the company's long-term vision, stating that autonomous systems operating collaboratively across multiple domains will define the future of defense, adding that Quantum Systems is building what he described as a next-generation defense prime capable of transforming the industry.

Co-CEO Sven Kruck noted that the financing will allow the company to rapidly expand production, strengthen its international presence, and accelerate deployment of AI-powered autonomous platforms across air, land, sea, and adjacent operational domains.

Chief Financial Officer Jonas Jarosch highlighted the company's strong financial performance, citing triple-digit revenue growth, double-digit profitability, and operational discipline as key factors enabling its next stage of expansion.

Proven Operational Performance in Real-World Combat Environments

The financing follows significant operational growth for Quantum Systems.

During 2025, the company's autonomous systems reportedly carried out more than 19,000 missions in Ukraine, demonstrating large-scale operational deployment under real combat conditions.

To support growing international demand, Quantum Systems has expanded its manufacturing and operational footprint across:

  • Germany

  • Ukraine

  • United States

  • Australia

  • Romania

  • United Kingdom

  • Baltic states

This international expansion positions the company to serve allied defense customers while increasing production resilience and shortening delivery timelines.

Airbus Deepens Strategic Partnership

The funding announcement was accompanied by an expanded partnership between Quantum Systems and Airbus Defence and Space.

Airbus CEO Michael Schoellhorn emphasized that modern military success increasingly depends on the ability to rapidly collect, process, and fuse information from air, ground, and space assets. He said autonomous systems become significantly more effective when integrated with trusted command-and-control architectures and combined with both crewed and uncrewed platforms.

According to Airbus, the strengthened collaboration will accelerate development of integrated software, AI capabilities, and sensor-to-shooter architectures while reinforcing Europe's sovereign defense ecosystem.

Investors Signal Strong Confidence in Europe's Defense Technology Sector

Lead investors described the funding as part of a broader transformation taking place across the European defense market.

Blackstone highlighted growing demand for capital to support advanced defense technologies as European nations increase investment in security and industrial resilience.

Noteus pointed to Quantum Systems as an example of Europe's rapidly maturing deep-tech ecosystem, where software, artificial intelligence, and operational execution are reshaping sovereign defense capabilities.

Meanwhile, Advent described Quantum Systems as being at the center of the global transition toward autonomous defense systems, citing its technology portfolio, expanding customer base, and international growth potential.

A Defining Moment for Europe's Autonomous Defense Industry

Quantum Systems' $1.2 billion financing represents far more than another venture capital milestone. It reflects accelerating global demand for AI-enabled autonomous defense capabilities and Europe's growing ambition to build sovereign, software-driven military technologies that can operate seamlessly across multiple domains.

With substantial capital now available, expanding industrial capacity, proven operational deployments, and deeper partnerships with established defense primes such as Airbus, Quantum Systems is positioning itself as one of Europe's leading next-generation defense technology companies as autonomous systems become increasingly central to future military operations.
