Vodafone Spain and Satellite Connect Europe, a joint venture between Vodafone Group and AST SpaceMobile, have signed a commercial agreement to introduce direct satellite-to-mobile (D2D) broadband services across Spain, marking a significant step toward integrating space-based connectivity into the country's telecommunications infrastructure.

Spanish space company FOSSA has raised €9.25 million to accelerate the deployment of its secure communications satellite constellation and expand its defense and intelligence capabilities. The funding will support international growth, new sovereign space technologies, and the continued rollout of its planned 140-satellite low Earth orbit network, strengthening Europe's strategic autonomy in space.

Irish space tech company, Ubotica Technologies, has raised $11 million to scale its Orbital AI-powered Live Maritime Intelligence platform. The technology processes data directly onboard satellites, enabling real-time detection of maritime threats, protection of critical infrastructure, and faster decision-making for governments and security agencies worldwide.
