The U.S. Air Force (USAF) Air Combat Command (ACC) has awarded a multi-year contract worth USD 46.8 million to SES Space & Defence, a wholly-owned subsidiary of SES, to provide Geostationary (GEO) Ku-band satellite services in support of the ACC RPPA training and testing program.

SES Space & Defence will supply ground-to-air and air-to-ground transmission coverage over the continental United States (CONUS), Hawaii, Alaska, and the Pacific Ocean for airborne operations using SES’s GEO high-throughput satellite (HTS) fleet. Additionally, network management and monitoring support will be provided by the Global Network Operations Centre (GNOSC) of SES Space & Defence.

According to SES Space & Defence President & CEO David Fields, “This is our third contract iteration for the remotely piloted aircraft training and testing program, and it continues to be a great privilege serving the U.S. Air Forces’ Air Combat Command’s mission. We are eager to support this endeavour by continuing to deliver exceptional performance using our GEO HTS.”
