Neuraspace Secures €15.6M to Advance AI-Powered Space Traffic Management and Defense Space Domain Awareness

As Earth's orbital environment becomes increasingly congested and contested, demand for intelligent space safety and security solutions continues to accelerate. Portuguese space technology company Neuraspace has taken a major step toward addressing these challenges, announcing €15.6 million in new funding to accelerate the development of its AI-powered Space Traffic Management (STM) and defense-focused Space Domain Awareness (SDA) capabilities.
The financing combines strategic private investment from Lince Capital, Explorer Investments, and Armilar Venture Partners with support from Portugal's Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRRP). The investment reflects growing confidence from both public and private sectors in Neuraspace's vision to strengthen Europe's autonomous space operations and sovereign space surveillance capabilities.
Scaling AI for Safer and More Secure Space Operations
The fresh capital will support several strategic initiatives, including the expansion of Neuraspace's artificial intelligence platform, the development of increasingly autonomous mission operations, and the growth of its proprietary optical sensing network.
A significant portion of the investment will also accelerate the development of NeuraspaceDEF, the company's dual-use platform designed to provide resilient Space Domain Awareness services for government and defense organizations.
According to Vasco Pereira Coutinho, CEO of Lince Capital, Neuraspace has rapidly emerged as one of Europe's most promising space technology companies by combining strong technical execution with increasing commercial momentum in a strategically important market.
Rapid Commercial Growth Strengthens Market Position
Founded in 2020, Neuraspace has experienced remarkable growth, reporting more than 350% revenue growth over the past year.
Today, the company monitors over 600 satellites for commercial and institutional customers worldwide, helping operators avoid collisions, improve mission resilience, and enable increasingly autonomous satellite operations.
Its customer portfolio includes organizations such as Spire Global, GEOSAT, NanoAvionics, Sidus Space, U-Space, and the European Space Agency (ESA).
Beyond commercial markets, Neuraspace has significantly expanded its presence within the defense sector. The company currently supports the Portuguese Air Force and NATO, while recently being selected as the prime contractor by a European Ministry of Defence, reinforcing its role as a trusted European provider of dual-use space safety and security solutions.
Addressing an Increasingly Complex Orbital Environment
The investment comes as the operational environment in orbit grows more challenging.
Satellite operators today face far more than collision avoidance. Modern spacecraft must contend with cyberattacks, radio-frequency interference, GNSS spoofing and jamming, and an expanding range of counterspace activities that require continuous situational awareness and rapid operational decision-making.
Neuraspace's platform addresses these challenges by combining commercial and sovereign sensor data with high-precision orbit determination, AI-powered risk and threat assessment, and autonomous decision support. This integrated approach enables commercial operators, government agencies, and defense organizations to detect, evaluate, and respond to both routine operational events and emerging security threats with greater speed and confidence.
Strengthening Europe's Technological Sovereignty
By investing in sovereign sensing infrastructure alongside AI-driven data fusion and operational automation, Neuraspace aims to reduce Europe's dependence on external surveillance capabilities while strengthening its own strategic autonomy in space.
