Spanish launch company PLD Space has raised €180 million in Series C funding, led by Mitsubishi Electric, to scale production and accelerate global launch operations. The investment will support the development of the MIURA 5 orbital launcher, expand infrastructure, and open new commercial launch opportunities across Japan and the Asian market.

Sateliot and PLD Space have signed a landmark contract for the first fully Spanish private space mission. Two next-generation Tritó 5G Direct-to-Device satellites will launch aboard MIURA 5 in 2027, strengthening Europe’s sovereign launch capabilities and advancing space-based connectivity for defense, security, and civil applications.
